Emergencies Ministries of Russia and Greece discussed promising areas of cooperation

On February 25, a video conference was held with the participation of the First Deputy Minister of EMERCOM of Russia Alexander Chupriyan and the Deputy Minister for the Protection of Greek Citizens Nikolaos Hardalias.

As Alexander Chupriyan noted, the emergency services of Greece are traditionally long-term and reliable partners of the Russian emergency department. “We are ready to share the experience in the field of population protection, accumulated by the department for 30 years,” the First Deputy Minister of Emergencies of Russia said.

During the meeting, vectors of bilateral cooperation of emergency services were outlined. Thus, the Russian Emergencies Ministry is ready to organize advanced training of Greek specialists in departmental universities with the involvement of the potential of the Russian-Serbian Humanitarian Center.

An important area of ​​cooperation is the development of the global movement of fire and rescue sports. EMERCOM of Russia pays great attention to this issue, since sport allows to improve the professional skills of employees, contributes to the education of the younger generation and the popularization of the professions of firefighter and rescuer.

Currently, the International Sports Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers includes 27 states. The Greek colleagues have also expressed interest in joining the Federation. In the near future, it is planned to sign a protocol of intent between the International Sports Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers and the Ministry for the Protection of Citizens of the Hellenic Republic on cooperation in the field of fire and rescue sports.

During the meeting, an agreement was reached to hold a meeting of the joint working group of the emergency departments of Russia and Greece to address issues of developing bilateral cooperation and exchange of experience. The first meeting is scheduled for March 29 via videoconference.

At the invitation of Alexander Chupriyan, the Greek colleagues will take part in the International Salon "Integrated Security", which will take place on May 12-16. This year, the main venue for the event will be unfolded for the first time at the Patriot Convention and Exhibition Center in the town of Kubinka, Moscow Region.

At the end of the meeting, the parties noted that bilateral cooperation between the emergency services of Russia and Greece has great prospects.
