Firefighters of the EMERCOM of Russia will compete for the title of the best in 2021 in a new format

At the largest subdivision of a Specialized Fire and Rescue Unit in the city of Reutov in the Moscow Region, journalists and firefighters bloggers from different regions of the country tested an obstacle course, which will determine the best firefighters of the Russian Emergencies Ministry in 2021.

The event will take place in several qualifying stages, during which the best rescuers will fight among themselves in strength, speed and tactics. The obstacle course includes elements of firefighting crossfit and regular trainings, which are practiced by specialists in the process of duty.

For firefighters, the obstacle course is the real work that they do in a real combat situation when extinguishing fires and eliminating emergencies. Human life in real extreme situations depends on well-coordinated actions in the "band".

So, for example, the first stage on the obstacle course is an explosive strength training. Standing on an anvil, the participant must knock out a metal beam from the rail with a hammer with fast, strong and accurate blows (this is an element from a fire cross-fit).

And at the last stage, the firefighter must climb the retractable fire escape to the third floor.

Between the stages, a segment is provided for practicing the skill of laying hose lines and working with a manual fire nozzle, turning over truck tires and opening doors with a special mechanized tool. The main principle of selection of tests for firefighters is what will help in the formation and improvement of special professional skills and abilities in extreme situations.

Vladislav Davydov, Assistant Chief of the Guard of the 1st Fire and Rescue Unit of the city of Omsk, shared his impressions after the jog.

- The tests are interesting for their unpredictability. It would seem that all the elements had to be done more than once, but that is why it is an obstacle course, so that, in addition to strength and speed, the rescuer connects logic and competently distributes his forces throughout the entire test. It will definitely benefit me and the rest of the guys.

The head of the training organization department of the Firefighting Organization Directorate of the Fire Protection Main Office, Colonel of the Internal Service Sergei Smygalin came to support the fighters in the sports competition. He noted that the upcoming competition of professional skills is held in the nominations "Best Firefighter" and "Best Chief of the Guard".

- Due to the special specifics - in the composition of one fire department there is a senior official - the chief of the guard or the squad leader, who is obliged to assess the situation at the fire site, make an administrative decision and then take the appropriate actions, - therefore, the specifics of passing the special lane of the chief of the guard and the firefighter will differ between themselves. The first, among other things, will still need to make a number of tactical decisions, - he noted.

He also added that the final of the competition will take place in September and will be held in three stages. At the first stage, the personnel of the fire brigades will compete with each other, at the second - the best from each constituent entity of the country, and at the third, the competition committee will select 11 employees in each of the two categories. In addition, in the final of the competition, the contestants will have to complete their homework, which is a special skill of mastering a professional skill or tactical technique, and which can be used in real actions to save a person or to extinguish a fire.
