The Head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia Alexander Kurenkov opened the III International Fire and Rescue Congress

On August 19, the Minister of EMERCOM of Russia Alexander Kurenkov announced the beginning of the III International Fire and Rescue Congress in the Moscow Region.

The large-scale event, organized at the Patriot Congress and Exhibition Center in Kubinka, brought together representatives from 45 countries and public organizations, as well as the RSChS system (the Unified State System of Prevention and Elimination of Emergency Situations) from all regions of Russia, authorities at various levels, the scientific and business community. The business program included more than 30 events.

Within the framework of the plenary session chaired by Alexander Kurenkov, a wide range of issues of ensuring the comprehensive security of the people and territories in modern conditions was considered. “New threats and challenges, both natural and man-made, are emerging. Our main task is to counter these threats, to mobilize all efforts to their timely prevention of the consequences,” Alexander Kurenkov said.

In particular, the plenary session discussed the evolution of threats and defense strategies. In the modern world, the range and number of risks is increasing, their scale is changing, they often have a hybrid, or “cascade” nature, as experts say,. Such conditions require the use of the latest models of equipment and weapons. Today, the work of specialists in the prevention and response to the challenges of the elements is impossible without the introduction of modern multifunctional models of equipment, technologies and information support. Rescuers are armed with unmanned aerial systems, communications equipment, as well as all kinds of communication equipment and software and hardware. The arsenal of the EMERCOM of Russia includes over 53.5 thousand pieces of equipment for various purposes. The Ministry is actively working on re-equipment.

In this regard, the capabilities of the domestic industry in the production of the technical means necessary to ensure integrated security and the latest scientific developments are analyzed. “Scientific thought today should be subordinated both to the creation of popular new technologies that can ensure the efficient operation of emergency services, and to alleviate the hard work of firefighters and rescuers,” the Head of the Russian Emergencies Ministry said.

Due to changes in the geopolitical situation, domestic manufacturers remain dependent on imported raw materials, component and element base, components and auxiliary materials, as well as unique equipment and software. The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia solves the problems of import substitution of fire and rescue products in close contact with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.

Alexander Kurenkov also took part in a conference on the development of fire and rescue units. The Head of the Ministry noted that over the 30 years of its existence, the search and rescue service of the Russian Emergencies Ministry has proved to be an effective tool for solving complex and dangerous tasks. “Specialists of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia carried out thousands of rescue operations and saved tens of thousands of human lives,” the Minister said.

Alexander Kurenkov examined promising models of Russian rescue and fire equipment, including the Krona car. And also - new fire engines based on Kamaz, which were presented by the General Director of the enterprise Sergey Kogogin.

“We will study all domestic developments and technologies presented at the exhibition, we will introduce them into the work of our divisions. Many of them are really advanced and surpass their foreign counterparts,” the Head of the Russian Emergencies Ministry said during the inspection of the exhibition.

The work of the III International Fire and Rescue Congress will last until August 21.
