New aviation and fire-rescue equipment entered service in the Russian Emergencies Ministry

On January 17, new Mi-8MTV-1 and Mi-26T2 helicopters entered service with the Southern Aviation Rescue Center of the Russian Emergencies Ministry. These are the main types of aircraft used by the pilots of the center. The new helicopters are significantly different from those machines that were previously supplied to rescuers.
The updated Mi-8 has completely replaced on-board radio-electronic equipment, installed an automatic control system, and a new flight and navigation system.
Both helicopters are adapted for night flights. The Mi-26T2 differs from the basic Mi-26T helicopter in a reduced crew size - two people can operate the machine instead of five. The Mi-8 is equipped with night vision goggles, which significantly expands the capabilities of pilots during search and rescue operations and other complex operations.
This year, the flight personnel of the Southern Rescue Center will be trained for flights with new vision goggles. Mi-8 is the first machine that will allow to train pilots.
Also today, firefighters of the Kemerovo region - Kuzbass received 24 AC-6.0-40 tankers based on the Ural NEXT vehicle and a mobile information system based on the KAMAZ chassis. Fire trucks are equipped with modern fire fighting equipment, rescue tools and other necessary equipment. All vehicles have high cross-country ability and are equipped with modern means of communication.
The mobile information system is designed to inform and alert the public by broadcasting text, sound and video information, is capable of receiving a television signal, broadcasting it to the public on its own LED screen, and also receiving and broadcasting a video signal from an unmanned aerial vehicle control system.
