Russian Emergency Situations Ministry develops cooperation with Bolivia

On February 15, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations was visited by the Ambassador of Bolivia, Maria Luisa Ramos Ursagaste.
As part of the working negotiations, the possibility of creating a Crisis Management Center in the Plurinational State based on modern Russian technologies was discussed.
The states have been cooperating through emergency departments for more than 15 years. Thus, in 2008, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations provided humanitarian assistance to the people of Bolivia affected by devastating floods. More than 30 tons of humanitarian aid were delivered. A year later, the Ministry sent 31 tons of humanitarian aid to Bolovia due to the Dengue fever epidemic. In 2019, aviation from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations helped extinguish wildfires in Bolivia.
During the working meeting, the foreign delegation got acquainted with the organization of activities and capabilities of the National Center for Crisis Management of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia. Now, the Bolivian side is interested in creating a similar unit based on the technologies of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations. The implementation of this project will have a positive impact on the promotion of Russian technologies and techniques in the field of prevention and response to emergency situations. In addition, our country will strengthen its humanitarian presence in Latin America.
The parties reached an agreement to study the issue at the expert level together with the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The Bolivian side will also consider the possibility of participating in the International Salon “Integrated Security”, which will be held in the Moscow Region at the end of May this year.
