Alexander Kurenkov presented digital services of the Ministry of Emergency Situations

The Head of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations Alexander Kurenkov presented digital services and the work of the National Center for Crisis Management of the Ministry for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters to the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko.
Experts presented the practical significance of information systems and algorithms for interdepartmental interaction in response to operational events.
“We see one of the main directions of development of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations towards the digitalization of public services, control and supervisory activities, and the safety of the urban environment. We pay special attention to the development of modern digital forecasting technologies for organizing preventive measures aimed at reducing the time to provide assistance and timely notification of the population,” noted Alexander Kurenkov.
The Ministry’s plans include the development of new platform solutions within the framework of the national project “Data Economy” and services based on the GosTech platform.
A mobile communication center and a mobile complex for informing and alerting the population were presented on the territory of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations. The communication is provided between the operational groups of the Ministry during liquidation of the consequences of emergency situations with the help of the first specialized vehicle in the field. Thanks to special equipment, specialists can collect, process and transmit various information about the nature of the emergency situation, manage forces and equipment during emergency rescue operations. The complex is capable of broadcasting real-time images from an unmanned aerial vehicle while monitoring the situation. In this case, radio, satellite and wire communication channels are used, including from areas with underdeveloped communication infrastructure. Last year, twelve new units of such equipment arrived in Russian regions.
The second special vehicle makes it possible to inform and alert the population. For this purpose, mobile technical means are used in crowded places that are not equipped with stationary warning systems. In hard-to-reach areas, this is sometimes the only means of obtaining operational information during a period of threat and emergency. For this purpose, pre-prepared video, audio and text messages are broadcast; the equipment is also capable of receiving television signals and broadcasting them on a mobile screen. Now, such complexes have been introduced in almost half of Russian regions.
Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko emphasized that the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations is actively implementing and using domestic developments. The agency’s use of AI technologies makes a significant contribution to increasing the efficiency of operational processes.
